Ok, so you are interested in playing Storm World: Ascension. What do you need to
do to get going?
First, get familiar with the online manual. Although it is not necessary to read
every word of it, it would be a good idea to make sure you know the basic structure
of the game. Especially the differences between the species of your realm character
(which will not change once selected) and the knowledge groups for your skills (which
can change should you wish to follow a different path.
Second, create your character. After you sign in, click the join link to create
your initial realm character. Select a name, gender and species. After that, assign
the attribute points to best suit your strategy. Click the "Create Dominion" button
and your realm character is created.
Third, designate the areas of knowledge you wish your character to follow (there
will be a link on the left-hand side of the page showing your RC's vital statistics.
In that section, there will be a list of knowledge groups and a link to upgrade
them.) With every level of knowledge you increase, your list of abilities becomes
longer and more powerful.
Fourth, visit the Marketplace (see link above) to purchase armaments for your Realm
Character. Also available are hirelings and possibly even mounts (all based on which
areas of knowledge you pursued). You start the game with 250g, which is enough to
purchase a wide range of items. Once used, you sell them back at a fraction of the
original price.
Fifth, look at your available Abilities (see link above). Make sure you ready the
armaments and hirelings that you wish to bring into battle with you. Also, if you
have other talents (such as sorcery, psionics or alchemy), make sure you activate
them as well. As the game goes on, you may want to change it up from one turn to
the next.
Now join a game in progress or one that is open. You should see a join game link on
your realm character's side panel if you are not already involved in a game (you can
only participate in one game at a time).
Lastly, click on the link to get to the RC Log. Here you will plan your movements
for the coming turn. It is also the place where you will view the turn results.
After every turn, you will get reminders of which tasks need (or perhaps should)
to be completed to prepare for the next turn. This message will be displayed at
the top left of the screen above your RC's name and vital information.
