Introduction
A. Overview
Storm World: Conquest
is a multi-player, play by web game. As many as 20 players compete against
each other in a empire-ruling scenario based in a fantasy/medieval realm.
All aspects of the game are online. Turn reports, game
maps, even messages are all sent by accessing http://www.gemynd.com.
B. Objectives
The object of the game is quite simple, rule the realm.
You must guide your empire from a single city into a large territorial juggernaut.
This is done by diplomatic and military strategy. Plan your turns carefully, as
you must expand as soon as possible, and gain power before your neighbors do.
Several objectives help you attain your overall goal.
First, you must gain economic superiority. Gold is power, and this affects the way
you afford new military units, buy off opposing nations, and build fortresses. Without
a gold surplus, you will not be able to maintain your system of control.
Second, a good morale is important. This has many subtle
advantages, but also a direct relationship to your commerce. Keep this value high.
Third, and possibly the most important, generate a large
military. A large part of this game is based on combat, and you will need troops
either to attack others, or defend against them.
Lastly, make sure you explore. There are wonders to see,
lairs to conquer, and people to meet. If your opponents get there first, they get
the prize.
C. Winning the Game
There are two ways to win this game. The first way, is
simply to conquer the realm, eliminating all non-allied foes. You do this by capturing
all foreign cities, and then destroying all enemy units. Even if a nation has no
cities, they can still attack with any remaining units.
The second way to win is to become immortal. You possess
a high enough ruling efficiency to attract divine attention (ruling efficiency is
discussed later). Once this level of efficiency is achieved, the gods will take
note of your presence. You must then maintain a high level of ruling efficiency
(higher then any other nation) for a time of 3 months (game turns are all 1 month
long). If you can maintain your current ruling efficiency and stay ranked #1 for
3 months, then the gods bestow upon you immortality. You can win the game by increasing
your ruling efficiency to 25 points higher then your next competitor, or by 30 points
if you have at least 1 ally.
Unfortunately, once you have achieved attention from
the gods, all other nations take note, and you risk an immediate war.
D. Victory Conditions
To win the game, a set of conditions must be met. Listed
below, from most difficult to easiest, are the ways to achieve a victory condition.
All are determined using your final ruling efficiency score.
